Adam Shankman, will be appearing as a guest judge on FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance,” tonight, July 11. Shankman is the director and choreographer of the upcoming “Hairspray” movie, opening July 20.

In addition to his role as a guest judge on July 11, he will be choreographing a number for the dancers to perform on the July 12 show.

The cast of “Hairspray” includes Queen Latifah as Motormouth Maybelle, John Travolta as Edna Turnblad, Christopher Walken as Wilbur Turnblad, Amanda Bynes as Penny Pingleton, Zac Efron as Link Larkin, Brittany Snow as Amber von Tussel, Michelle Pfeiffer as Velma von Tussel, James Marsden as Corny Collins, Elijah Kelly as Seaweed, Allison Janney as Prudy Pingleton, and Nikki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad.

The Broadway musical and forthcoming musical version of the film are both based on the 1988 John Waters movie. The musical film hits theatres nationwide on July 20.
