Would you like to win a pair of tickets to the 2007 Tony Awards, being held this Sunday evening, June 10, at Radio City Music Hall? You’d better be ready to sing for your supper, so to speak. (Hey, Susan at “Broadway, Baby” did it at her Boston location, so why not try? She reported that it was overall an enjoyable experience.)
The annual “Sing for Your Tony’s Tickets” competition will be held at Macy’s Herald Square on June 8 at 5 PM.
So, what does one need to do in order to compete?
– Be there! Be at Macy’s Herald Square, in the Main Floor Fragrance Arcade. The address is 151 West 34th Street in New York City.
– Sing! Contestants will have a selection of eight (8) showtunes to choose from.
Now for the judges:
– Orfeh, Tony nominee now performing in Legally Blonde
– Mo Rocca of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
– Tony winner Tommy Tune
At 6 PM the judges’ choice will have to compete with a group of semi-finalists who’ve been doing the same thing at Macy’s stores nationwide. The winner will be given 2 tickets to the 61st Annual Tony Awards, as well as a Macy’s shopping spree worth $1,000!
Don’t want to compete? Got a case of stage fright? Be there anyway, because Macy’s shoppers who spend $150 during the sing-off can receive the following:
– a Tony Awards keepsake
– tickets to either a) Grey Gardens (Best Musical Nominee) or b) Company (Best Musical Revival Nominee).
(Note: This offer is limited while supplies last!)
